I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
